Why FlowSols?

Flow Cytometry is widely used in basic and clinical research. To harness the real power of this complex and rapidly evolving state of art technique, formal training in flow cytometry plays a major role. A formal training with experts is not only important but also critical in order to achieve superior experimental design, accurate data analysis, presentations and appropriate conclusions.

In last few years, the number of parameters (colors) simultaneously used in flow cytometry experiments has increased, which has added even more complexity to the researchers and made formal training a paramount importance. We at FlowSols provide you the required insight about the core concepts of flow cytometry, which will help you to perform your experiment/ understand the reports with greater ease and it will also help you to troubleshoot the experimental/ instrument related glitches.

Our Team

We are a group of scientists with substantial experience in flow cytometry subject. Members of our team in the past had worked as application support scientists with the leading companies in this field.  As front line executives, we have worked with flow cytometry users in India working on their diverse research areas from immunology, cell biology, plant biotechnology, microbiology, environmental sciences and nanotechnology and gained practical knowledge in the application of flow cytometry in the respective fields. We aim to transmit our passion and talent for flow cytometry to every flow user.

Dr. Hemant Agrawal (Co-Founder and Director) is an immunologist with a passion for flow cytometry. Dr. Agrawal obtained PhD in Immunology from the University Hospital Essen, Germany (2006). He joined Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Oklahoma City, USA as an Associate Research Scientist in the Immunology and Arthritis Program (2006-2009). He subsequently joined the Rheumatology Department at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago from 2009 to 2011 as a Research Associate Scientist. From 2011 to 2013, he worked as an Application and Product Manager with FlowJo, TreeStar Inc, USA for the Indian subcontinent and Middle East. His knowledge of flow cytometry is highly regarded, which led him to be served as consultant for companies and organizations like Labindia Analytical Instruments Pvt Ltd (Spectral Flow Cyometry, Cytek Biosciences),

Bio-Rad India, TTPLabtech India, and Zydus Cadila, Venture Centre (CSIR-Bioincubator) and Quantum Technology Group, USA. Dr. Agrawal has co-authored many peer-reviewed scientific publications and has been invited as speakers at various national and international meetings & conferences. Dr. Agrawal has co-authored many peer-reviewed scientific publications and has been invited as speakers at various national and international meetings & conferences. He is also a committee member and managing officer of the Trust for Education and Training in Cytometry (TETC), India, which conducts the prestigious annual Indo-US Cytometry Workshops and other cytometry meetings in India and neighboring countries. He is experienced in flow cytometry experimental design, data acquisition, data analysis and presentation of immunophenotyping, intracellular staining, cell proliferation, cell cycle, apoptosis, cytometric bead array etc. He has conducted over 85 onsite flow cytometry workshops all over India and neighboring countries, where participants got the training to design, acquire and analyze the flow cytometry experiments. He also runs online flow cytometry courses, which are widely appreciated and attended by participants from all over the world. To mention he has conducted over 40 online flow cytometry courses/workshops and had started the “Annual Online Certificate Course in Flow Cytometry” in 2023,  where thousands of researchers, students, technicians, faculties and doctors have been trained in various applications and aspects of flow cytometry. He is also a consultant to De Novo Software, USA (makers of FCS Express Data Analysis Software). Dr. Aruna Goenka Agrawal (Co-Founder and Director) has done her PhD from the Max Planck Institute in Muelheim, an der Ruhr, Germany (2001-2005), and continued there as a postdoctoral fellow (2005-2006). Later, she joined Coskata, Inc., in Warrenville, Illinois, USA and worked as a Research Biologist on their Biofuel program (2008-2011). She worked at Birla Institute of Scientific Research, Jaipur (2014), before taking up a Research Scientist position at DBT-ICT Centre for Energy Biosciences, Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai, India (2014-2016). She has been working with Flowcytometry Solutions Pvt Ltd, Jaipur, India since its inception in 2012 in the capacity of co-founder-director. Besides working as a director at Flowcytometry Solutions, she is an invited Faculty at the Centre for Converging Technology (CCT), University of Rajasthan, Jaipur.
Her main area of work is anaerobic fermentation, microbiology, molecular biology and biochemistry. She has been a meritorious student through-out her studies. Her interest in science took her across the globe. She has work experience in academic and industrial research at some of the best places in India and the world. Besides reading about the latest updates in scientific world, she loves to read story books and novels alike. Her interest in teaching students of all ages has got her much appreciation from the students and faculties.
Dr. Rekha R. Gour (Advisor)  graduated with a major in chemistry from Mumbai University in 1991 and got her Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology.  She was associated with the Flow Cytometry Facility at the Cancer Research Institute, ACTREC, Tata Memorial Centre, Mumbai, INDIA for 25 years. As Scientific Assistant at ACTREC, she was actively involved in Flow Cytometry training of scientists and students from ACTREC and other Institutes. Rekha has been actively associated with the Indo-US Cytometry workshops since the first workshop in Chandigarh in 2002.
She has been an invited faculty and member of the Organizing Committee for most of the INDO-US Cytometry workshops. With her experience and expertise in Flow Cytometry she is able to assist organizers, involved in Indo-US Flow Cytometry workshops in India. She was an Executive member of The Cytometry Society (TCS-India) & has played a key role in expanding the TCS strength by registering new members and raising fund. Understanding the lack of adequate Flow Cytometry training in remote corners of India, Rekha has assisted in Organizing Indo-US and TCS workshops in CCRC (Silchar) and  IIT-G (Guwahati), Assam. Her idea of teaching Flow Cytometry to young students has led her to start Flow Cytometry workshops in Mumbai Colleges, which has trained many college students and faculties. She is member of the Organizing Committee for conduct of Indo-US cytometry Workshops in India and a Co-founder and Managing Trustee for Trust for Education and Training in Cytometry (TETC). She is playing a key role by assisting and connecting the flow cytometry community to organize and conduct Flow cytometry workshops in India, Nepal and Sri Lanka. Rekha opted for Voluntary Retirement, but her commitment and support for Flow Cytometry continues and in a great way.
